Tom Yum Kung
Recognized by UNESCO as an intangible part of Thailand’s cultural heritage, Tom Yum Kung is a beloved spicy and sour soup dish featuring aromatic Thai herbs and spices, a flavorful broth, and prawns (or “kung” in the native Thai tongue). There are many variations of Tom Yum Kung soup, such as Tom Yum Kung Nam Khon, which is a creamy version with coconut milk, or Tom Yum Kung Nam Sai, which is a clear, lighter broth version. You can learn to make this dish in Nah Pah’s Wednesday class.
Tom Kha Kai
Tom Kha Kai is the go-to chicken soup in Thailand and a favorite among locals and visitors alike. A flavorful soup with chicken and a coconut milk base, it is spicy, sour, sweet, and savory. It’s a harmonious combination of an array of flavors. It’s common to enjoy this dish over a bed of steamed rice. You can learn to make this dish in Nah Pah’s Monday class.
Phanaeng Moo
Another popular Thai dish, Phanaeng Moo is a rich, thick red curry with pork. It’s made using coconut milk and Panang Curry Paste, which contains a blend of spices such as dried chilies, galangal, lemongrass, Kaffir lime zest, cilantro root and seeds, garlic, shallots, shrimp paste, salt, and peanuts. This dish is also enjoyed over a bed of steamed rice. It is one of the featured dishes in Nah Pah’s Tuesday class.
Khao Niew Mamuang
Sweet, salty, and creamy, Khao Niew Mamuang, or better known as Mango Sticky Rice, is Thailand’s most popular dessert. Featuring succulent mango slices over a bed of sweet sticky rice and a coconut milk sauce, it’s the perfect treat for its simplicity and delicious combination of alluring flavors. It’s widely available across Thailand, sold in restaurants or by local vendors on the street. You can learn to make this dish to share with others in Nah Pah’s class.
