Wat Chai Mongkhon
Constructed in 1857 during the late reign of King Rama IV, it is said that Wat Chai Mongkhon earned its name for being the victorious endpoint of a traditional boat racing competition during this time, with Wat Sanam Chai serving as the starting point of the race. On the sacred grounds of Wat Chai Mongkhon, you are greeted by the serene ambiance of the Ubosot, or ordination hall. Here, you can marvel at the exquisite mural paintings adorning the walls, blending traditional artistry with modern techniques. The murals, featuring a captivating interplay of light and shadow, vibrant colors, and intricate details, offer a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Thailand. Located at 13-minute drive from Royal Wing Suites & Spa, Wat Chai Mongkhon is an amazing place to experience its timeless beauty and profound tranquility.

The monastery covers an impressive expanse of 58.64 hectares. The goal of constructing Wat Yanasangvararam was to create a Vipassana meditation training center near Bangkok and establish it as the Buddhist monastery for the reign of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The compound is divided into four zones: Buddhavas, Sanghavas, Karavas, and an expansive section dedicated to host various royal-initiated and royal development projects.
